Feb 16, 2017 will be marked in letters of gold in the annals of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan as it was the day on which the renowned litterateur and critic, Prof.M.K Sanoo, delivered the first oration held in connection with the first Kulapati K.M.Munshi Memorial Oration held under the auspices of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra at the Bhavan's Auditorium.
The programme began with the prayer Maithreem Bhajata sung by Bhavan's students. Sri. E. Ramankutty, Director delivered the Welcome Address after honouring the Chief Guest on his Navathi. The Presidential address was delivered by the Kendra Chairman, Shri. Venugopal C Govind.
The audience fell silent the moment this towering figure of Malayalam Literature uttered his first words. Prof. Sanoo spoke on the topic 'Education' and Values'. He opined that imbibing values was the sole route to achieving humaneness and that the very aim of education should be humanism. He expressed the view that education should be rechannelised to achieve humanism so that the innate animal instincts in Man are transformed to divinity.
