XVI All Kerala Sreeramakrishna-Vivekananda Devotee Conference

All Kerala Sreeramakrishna-Vivekananda Devotee Conference was held from May 11th-14th at the Siva Ratri Manapuram, on the bank of river Periyar at Alwaye, Kochi. Around 1000 devotees and saints from all over India participated in the conference. The conference, deliberations and seminars were an earnest attempt to identify, solve and lessen the ethical problems and turmoils faced by the human race in the light of the messages by Sri Ramakrishna, Vivekananda and Sarada Davi.
The conference was inaugurated by renowned novelist Sri C. Radhakrishnan, and Srimat Swami Girisanda Maharaj, Global Treasurer of Ramakrishna Mission worldwide, lighted the lamp(Nilavilaku). The seminars and discussions on various spiritual, ethical and worldly issues were addressed and guided by Swami Swprabhanandaji Maharaj, Belur Matt.; Dr M.C. Dileep Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Sanskrit University, Kalady; Dr. T.V. Muralivallabhan; Hon Justices P.N. Revindran and K. Ramakrishnan of Kerala High Court; Dr. J. Premiladevi, State woman's Commission member; Prayar Gopalakrishnan, Devaswam Board President; Dr N. Lekshmikutty Amma, Swami Veerabhadranandaji Maharaj, Prof M.K. Sanu and other dignitaries. Sri. M.P. Veerandra Kumar, Managing Director, Mathrubhumi a noted writer, was conferred the Sree Ramakrishna Seva Puraskar. The conference ended with Yathi Pooja, honouring 38 saints and sanyasins from different parts of the country. Cultural programmes and traditional dances were the other highlights of the programme. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was represented by the Hon. Secretary of Pathnamthitta Kendra, Sri. P.I. Sherief Muhammed, who addressed the Valedictory function and participated in the Yathi pooja. He was also the Executive patron of the conference. Central Bhavan sponsored one day's hospitality to the participants of the programme. The Rama Krishna mission extended its gratitude to Bhavan for its support to the mission's activities.
