Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya celebrated Teachers' Day on September 5th, 2017 in the school premises. A special assembly was put up by students of Class XI & XII in which they honoured the teachers by gifting them cards and plant saplings. Class XII students were handed over the responsibility of the school for the day by the School Principal, Dr. (Smt) Anju Tandon. Later in the day, dance, music and games were organized for the teachers in the school auditorium. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all the teachers.
The formal function was held in the Munshi Memorial Hall with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a rendition of Guruvandana. The dignitaries present on the occasion were - Shri Ashok Pradhan, Director BVB, Delhi Kendra; Km Surender Saini, Chairperson BVB; Shri A. S. Awasthi, Registrar BVB; Shri C.K.Arya, Manager; Smt. Shashi Prabha, Head, Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya; Shri Abhay Shankar, Sr. Manager, Bharat Petroleum and Shri Vijay Bhardwaj, Adminstration Officer.
The highlight of the day was the conferral of awards for teachers who had completed 25 years of service and the distribution of the Smt. Sarla Shankar and Prof. Vijay Shankar Awards.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Vibha Kohli, Vice Principal. The day concluded with a lunch organized in the school canteen.
