21 member delegates including two teachers from Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Eroor and Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Girinagar participated in the Harvard Model United Nations Conference 2019 held at Boston from January 24 to 27, 2019. The 4-day annual conference organised by the undergraduates of the Harvard University witnessed a congregation of more than 3000 student delegates and 350 faculty advisors from all over the world and 240 Harvard undergraduates at 'The Sheraton', where the conference was held. The 66th edition of the most prestigious MUN had student delegates representing all member countries of the UN in as many as 30 committees under the aegis of the General Assembly, the Economic & Social Council, a Non-governmental organization, six regional bodies and ten specialized agencies. During their 10-day sojourn in the US, the team were able to visit the Harvard University, UN Headquarters, Times Square, the Infinity Tower and the Sept 11 Memorial at the WTC(N Y) the White House, US Capitol, the Museum for Natural History at the Smithsonian Museum Complex, Lincoln memorial, Washington Memorial, etc.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra felicitated the students who participated in the Harvard Model United Nations Conference 2019 at a meeting held on February 12, 2019 at the Bhavan's auditorium. The Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Hon. Secretary cum Treasurer, Director, members of the Kendra Committee, Education Officers, Principals, Vice Principals, students of Bhavan's schools and 21 delegates participated in HMUN.
Smt. Parvathy E., Principal, Bhavan's Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, welcomed the gathering. Shri. Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, in his presidential address, expressed his appreciation to the team. Sri E. Ramankutty, Director and Smt. Meena Viswanathan, Academic Consultant cum Education Officer offered felicitations. Each participant of HMUN shared the experiences which motivated other students.
