In an effort to protect and preserve the Biodiversity in nature Bhavan's Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, organised a week long programme to create awareness among students and to sensitise them towards this issue. Slogan Writing Competitions and Skit presentations were held. The campaign concluded with a rally on October 5, 2012 which made its way to Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park. Around 200 students participated in the rally to express their support for the cause. A donation of 20,000/- was handed over to the Zoo authorities for the adoption of two animals – the Crocodile and the Blackbuck.
Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director and Treasurer, Tirupati Kendra stressed on the need for preservation of the biodiversity with a special emphasis on the endemic species of Sechachalam forests.
The Curator of the Sri Venkateswaa Zoological Park, Sri Sarvanan appreciated the initiative taken by the students of the Science Club of the school.
