As part of the ongoing year-long Golden Jubilee Celebration of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra a special lecture by Padma Vibhushan Dr M S Valiathan (Former Director of Shri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology and Former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University) was held to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Vaidyaratnam P. S. Varier the doyen of Ayurveda, the renowned Ayurvedic Physician and founder of Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal on October 17, 2019 at Sardar Patel Sabha Griha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T. D. Road, Kochi. CA Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra presided over the function.
The Chief Guest and the speaker of the day Padma Vibhushan Dr. Marthanda Varma Sankaran Valiathan said that he felt privileged to be at Bhavan, as his association with Bhavan goes way back to his school days when he began to read Dr. K. M. Munshi's articles in the Bhavan's Journal.
