Gujarati Sugam Sangeet

A three-day Gujarati Sugam Sangeet Workshop was organised from 25 to 27 July, 2014. Four dignitaries graced the occasion by teaching various avenues of writing, composing & performing on poems, songs and gazals.
Tushar Shukal, ex-director of All India Radio-Ahmedabad and Baroda Station, A Grade poet, writer and stage comperer who is working in the field of Sugam Sangeet for more than 3 decades, Biren Purohit, lead music director of TV serials, music composer, singer & seasoned performer, Nainesh Jani, 'Gujarat Gaurav Award' winner, seasoned music composer and performer and Anil Vora , well known singer, trainer and music composer of Gujarati Sugam Sangeet were present on the occasion.
The event highlighted the 50th year of Ahmedabad Bhavan's Campus. A special cover story was also published in Divya Bhaskar which is the leading newspaper in Gujarat. The workshop was attended by participants from all age groups. Six sessions were planned with the faculties mentioned above.
The pre-event coverage was done by Divyabhaskar, Gujarat Samachar, Navgujarat Samay & Times of India. Divyabhaskar also published a detailed cover story featuring the campus and words from the chairman. Post event, GS TV - a local cable network has given a pictorial and interview coverage of faculty also. Ahmedabad Mirror has highlighted this event as a remarkable event.
