World Wetlands Day
|
|
Every year, World Wetlands Day is celebrated on February 2 to create awareness among people about conserving Wetlands all over the world. Students of class VIII of the International Residential School, Bhimavaram, accompanied by their teacher participated in the celebration organised by WWF, Hyderabad at Kolleru Lake Wild Life sanctuary situated about 25 km from Bhimavaram. The children took active part in studying the bio-diversity of Lake Kolleru, which has now been declared a protected site. Nearly 200 species of migratory birds can be seen here.
